With the growing emphasis placed on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) compliance and reporting, effective and timely communication of Health and Safety data is a topic of interest to management, compliance and even investor relations staff today. In a world where more molecules are being converted to petrochemicals, where logistic chains are longer and more complex, and where the stakeholders involved in those chains are more diverse than ever, the challenge of communicating this important data needs to be properly addressed.
The TIC Council’s Petroleum and Petrochemicals Committee is holding a webinar to highlight known areas of concern in safety communication and SDS information in relation to the increased frequency of exposure to chemicals. Its goal is to help limit delays and demurrage in an evolving market by achieving demonstrably better communication and increased safety for all involved.
The webinar will also summarize the overarching requirements of legislation such as GHS and CLP as they apply to those involved in the petroleum, petrochemical, gas and alternative fuels market in any way, be that as traders, storage companies, shippers, producers, formulators or end users.
Topics to be discussed include the basic requirements and best practice for SDS content drafting and issue, their communication, language requirements, contact points and use in the field.
Stakeholders are encouraged to register for the webinar and participate in both the event and to provide feedback afterwards.

The webinar will take place on Thursday 18th of November 2021 in two sessions to allow for global participation:
- 10:00 to 11:00 CEST // 16:00 to 17:00 SGT
- 16:00 to 17:00 CEST // 10:00 to 11:00 EDT
Registration will be open to all TIC Council Members and relevant stakeholders, as well as a larger external audience. With that, we encourage you to extend this invitation to staff within your organisation with a key interest in safety.
