We have observed raising incidents on fires in buildings, including hospital buildings, in recent past. Investigation of reasons and causes for fire-related incidents cite electrical faults, non-compliant construction, lack of precautionary maintenance, overlook of safety procedures as reasons for same.
There is thus a need that fire safety should be considered of prime importance in infrastructure, especially healthcare. An example is hospital intensive care units (ICUs) are a great fire risk because they are oxygen-suffused and need to meet high standards. There is a need to ensure that best practices are adapted and more stringent compliance requirements are brought into place to ensure prevention.
Considering this, TIC Council is delighted to announce the topic of the next TIC Forum as “Fire Safety in the Healthcare Infrastructure”.
