Invitation to CSRD Breakfast at European Parliament

3 February 2023

08:00 - 09:30

Registrations are closed

TIC Council, the international trade association representing the independent testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) sector, is pleased to invite you to a breakfast hosted on behalf of MEP Pascal Durand at the European Parliament to discuss the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), following the final approval for its adoption given by the European Council at the end of November 2022.

With EU member states given 18 months to implement the directive’s text into national law, there remain a series of questions about how the legislation will impact businesses and service providers alike. Compliance as of 2025 means that businesses will have to work on selecting and monitoring the items that will need to be reported on.

The readiness of all actors to comply with the new CSRD obligations - from businesses, independent assurance service providers, to accreditation bodies - will make the next 18 months critical in ensuring that the directive can meet its objectives.

In light of this framework, the breakfast discussion aims to facilitate an exchange between key stakeholders and policymakers on the opportunities and risks to the implementation of the directive. The discussion, moderated by MEP Pascal Durand, (Socialists & Democrats, France),  CSRD rapporteur, will be guided by the following experts offering further insight on the topic:

- André Lacroix, CEO of Intertek Group

- Thomas Dodd, Team Leader, Sustainability Reporting, European Commission

- Guillaume Prache, Managing Director at BETTER FINANCE

- Caroline Weber, Director General of Middlenext

- Maureen Logghe, President of European Accreditation

- Marc Boissonnet, Executive Vice-President Corporate & External Affairs, Bureau Veritas

The breakfast will take place on Friday 3 February from 8:00 to 9:30 at the Paul-Henri Spaak Restaurant.  Interpretation from French to English will be provided.

Please note that due to limited capacity in the European Parliament, registrations will be processed on a first-come first-serve basis.

We look forward to welcoming you at the event this February.
